
The Police Regional Office Negros Island Region (PRO NIR) held the blessing and turnover of mobility assets, firearms, and internal security operations (ISO) equipment at Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr. in Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City, on Monday, December 15.
PBrig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, PRO NIR director, said it marks an important milestone in strengthening the operational capability of the newly created PRO Negros Island Region.
He said with these resources, police units are better positioned to perform day-to-day law enforcement functions, respond to disasters and emergencies, and conduct internal security operations with greater efficiency and professionalism.
Blessed and tuned over were 24 Personnel Carrier 4X4 vehicles, eight light transport vehicles, two patrol motorcycles, 220 combat helmets, and seven light machine guns “Mertsav”.
The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office received 13 Personnel Carrier 4X4 vehicles, six light transport vehicles, one patrol motorcycle, and two light machine guns “Mertsav”.
The Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office received five Personnel Carrier 4X4 vehicles, two light transport vehicles, one patrol motorcycle, three light machine guns “Mertsav,” and 104 combat helmets.
The Siquijor Police Provincial Office received six Personnel Carrier 4X4 vehicles and six combats helmets.
The Bacolod City Police Office received 40 combat helmets and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion NIR Negros Island Region received two light machine guns “Mertsav,” and 30 combat helmets.*
