
Headline inflation in the Negros Island Region accelerated to 1.3 percent in December 2025 from 0.8 percent in November 2025, Philippine Statistics Authority data showed.
NIR’s December rate remained below the national average of 1.8 percent, which also increased from 1.5 percent in November.
Compared with other Visayas regions, NIR’s 1.3 percent was lower than Western Visayas’ 1.8 percent, which matched the national rate for the month.
NIR also stayed well below Central Visayas’ 3.8 percent, the highest inflation rate among Visayas regions in December.
Eastern Visayas recorded 1.4 percent, slightly higher than NIR’s December inflation.
For full-year context, PSA data showed NIR’s annual average inflation in 2025 was 1.1 percent, lower than the Philippines’ 1.7 percent annual average.
In the Visayas, Western Visayas posted a 1.5 percent annual average in 2025, Central Visayas recorded 2.5 percent, and Eastern Visayas logged 0.7 percent.*
