A new resort hotel in Bacolod City described as a place to escape the chaos and discover true relaxation has just launched its soft opening.

SixtyFifth Destination Resort Hotel located across the street from the Bacolod City Government Center has 56 two-bedroom suites that are great for families wanting to relax and bond, and for friends to enjoy in-room parties.

Each suite has two bedrooms with a living and dining room, kitchenette and balcony.  Its premium deluxe suites also have spas.

The hotel, owned by Fernando F. Gonzaga Inc., a property developer and manager, is also located right next to Splash Park for guests to enjoy.

The new hotel offers high and low season rates, and special discounts for long stays.

It is called SixtyFifth Destination Resort Hotel because they started its construction when Fernando F. Gonzaga Inc. turned 65 years old, the firm’s president Maria Regina Tanpinco Piccio said Sunday, March 24.

“Our company is a local real estate developer based in Bacolod. We are building a city in the eastside of Bacolod,” she said.

She said 30 years ago there was nothing in eastside except farm lands.

“Our family decided to keep the farm land that our grandfather Fernando F. Gonzaga and grandmother Angela Jayme left us and developed it for the whole of the Negenses and Filipinos to enjoy,” she said.

Hanging on a wall at the SixtyFifth Destination Resort Hotel is an art piece made by the Negrense Volunteers for Change Foundation’s Artisans of Hope entirely with used Nespresso coffee capsules.

“It features growing sugarcane with nine flying birds above the field, representing the family’s patriarch and his siblings. That this farm scene hangs amidst the family’s latest venture in modern surroundings is a testament to how they have managed to transform a once-upon-a-time agricultural area into a bustling urban setting,” NVC president Millie Kilayko said.

On the drawing board to be built in the area is a 10-storey condominium building, Piccio also said.*
