The new Land Transportation Office building in Barangay Mansilingan and the provincial government’s Organic Trading Post at San Juan Street in Bacolod City will be inaugurated in January, Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said Thursday, December 29.
The P33.35 million LTO building was built by the provincial government on its property in Manayaosayao, Barangay Mansilingan, in Bacolod City.
The old LTO and Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) buildings at Cottage Road in Bacolod City will be developed into a public private partnership multi-use facility, or another cyber center, to generate income for the provincial government, he said.

The new facility will also provide office space for the BSP and will have a halfway house for watchers of patients at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, Diaz said.
Also subject for improvement is the old women’s center at Cottage Road that is being used by the Department of Social Services and Development, he said.
The Organic Trading Post adjacent to the provincial government’s Food Terminal Market at the North Capitol Road is where farmers can deliver their produce for sale. A shared facility for food processing is also located in the area for value adding of products to enable stakeholders to earn more, he added.
The offices of the Technology and Livelihood Development Center and Department of Trade and Industry Go Negosyo Center at the Negros Residences will also be transferred to a building at the Organic Trading Post.
The spaces vacated at the Negros Residences will be leased out for a 24-7 convenience store to generate added income for the provincial government, he said.*
