 New Leadership at Marapara Rotary

President April Kitagawa affixes a Rotary emblem to past president Virgil Rupert “Igie” Villarosa’s lapel.*

The Rotary Club of Bacolod-Marapara welcomed its 33rd president, April Kitagawa, along with the newly appointed officers for Rotary Year 2025–2026, during induction and turnover ceremonies held recently at The Upper East House, Bacolod City.

Kitagawa and her officers were formally sworn in by Ronnie Gabalda, past district governor of Rotary District 3850, who served as the inducting officer.

Outgoing president Virgil Rupert “Igie” Villarosa ceremonially passed the gavel to  Kitagawa, marking the official transfer of leadership and responsibility.

In her acceptance remarks,  Kitagawa thanked fellow Rotarians for their support and shared her enthusiasm for the year ahead, themed “Unite for Good.” She expressed confidence in the club’s continued success, especially through its wide-ranging community outreach programs.

The evening also celebrated the induction of six new members, reaffirming the club’s growth and vibrancy.

Special guest speaker was Dr. Yasmin Pascual-Dormido, former ABS-CBN broadcaster and current head of the External Affairs and Linkages Office at STI West Negros University.
