The National Electrification Administration has appointed Danny Pondevilla project supervisor and acting general manager of Central Negros Electric Cooperative.

Pondevilla, Northern Negros Electric Cooperative general manager, said he will serve as CENECO acting manager in a concurrent capacity.

Pondevilla, who assumed his CENECO post Monday, December 7, assured transparency in his management of the cooperative.

NEA Administrator Edgardo Masongsong designated Pondevilla project supervisor and acting general manager effective immediately.

Pondevilla, who is a lawyer, was directed to manage the day-to-day operations of CENECO to ensure the efficient delivery of electric service.

In consultation with concerned NEA departments, Pondevilla can approve or disapprove CENECO board resolutions, Masongsong said.

Pondevilla said he has met with members of the CENECO labor union to listen to their concerns.

He will also meet with CENECO area and department managers, consumer groups and local officials to listen their concerns so he can act on them, Pondevilla added.

Pondevilla plans to reorganize the CENECO bids and awards committee (BAC) and to form a hiring and promotions committee.

He will also ask representatives of consumer groups to observe BAC bidding in the spirit of transparency, Pondevilla said.*
