Sales at the 37th Negros Trade Fair (NTF) at the Glorietta 2 Ayala Center in Makati City hit P16,262,725.69, NTF vice chairperson MaryAnn Feria Colmenares said Thursday, September 28.

NTF sales on Wednesday hit P8,966,018.75 and on Tuesday it was P7,296,706.95, she said.

It is an increase of P1.9 million compared to the first two days of the 2022 NTF, which was at P14 million, Colmenares said.

Food, furniture and furnishings, and the local government unit booths are doing well, she said.

“Everyone have increased sales”, she said.

Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said “people are excited and we hope to maintain those sales” until the last day of the NTF on Sunday, October 1.

He is hoping for higher sales this year, Lacson said.

Total sales during the 36th NTF in 2022 was P39 million.

Lacson said Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro visited the Association of Negros Producers-Provincial Peace and Order Council booths at the NTF that feature the products of former rebels.

“He liked it because this is a result of people going mainstream by allowing the provincial government and other non-government organizations to enter their area and help them,” Lacson said.

In fact Teodoro said he would urge his men at Camp Aguinaldo to visit the Negros Trade Fair and buy the products of the former rebels, the governor said, noting that it is a success story.

Lacson also said that the opening night of the NTF on Tuesday was successful with more people, including senators Grace Poe, Imee Marcos and Cynthia Villar, in attendance compared to last year.*
