The Negros Trade Fair, the country’s longest-running provincial trade fair in Metro Manila, will open at the SMX Convention Center Aura in Taguig City on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
The fair will run until Sunday, Sept. 28.
Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson urged Negrenses in Metro Manila and the general public to visit the fair, expressing hope that it would benefit from the high volume of customers at SM Aura.
The opening and blessing of the booths will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, followed by the “Arima,” or ceremonial ringing of the bell and cocktails for partners and guests at 4 p.m., Mary Ann Colmenares, co-chair of the trade fair, said.
The 39th edition of the fair is themed “Himbon,” a Hiligaynon term that means “to gather.”
The fair will feature 139 exhibitors showcasing the best of Negros in food, fashion, crafts, and more, Colmenares said.
SM Supermalls president Steven Tan praised the fair for “proudly celebrating Negrense heritage, creativity, and entrepreneurship” for decades.
He added that this year, they are providing micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with a larger marketplace to reach new audiences.
Bacolod Mayor Greg Gasataya also announced that the 2025 MassKara Festival will be launched in Metro Manila during the fair’s Bacolod Day on Saturday, Oct. 27.*
