The police have arrested 92 gun ban violators since the start of its implementation, with Negros Occidental having the highest number of apprehensions at 26, the Police Regional Office 6 reported.
The arrest were made from August 28 to October 10.
There were also 372 loose firearms surrendered and deposited with the police in Western Visayas.
PRO-6 Spokesperson Major Mary Grace Socorro Borio said that Negros Occidental has the highest number of arrested violators at 26.
Arrested in Iloilo province were 18, Iloilo City – 14, Aklan and Bacolod City – 10 each, and Capiz and Guimaras – 8 each, the PRO6 reported.
The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office reported that 109 loose firearms were either deposited or surrendered in the province.*
