A Negros Occidental Provincial Stakeholders’ Consultative Power Summit will be held at the Santuario de La Salle, Bacolod City, on Friday, May 3.
The Power Summit will bring together stakeholders in the power industry from the generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization sectors for their contributions towards the crafting of a Negros Occidental Energy Development Road Map for the province’s sustainable energy future, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said.
The governor said on the recommendation of the Negros Occidental Power Sector Assessment Study (NOPSAS), the provincial government launched the #SecuRENegros campaign on February 5.
The campaign focuses on supporting a just transition to renewable energy to address the pressing issues of power security and climate change, and to help decongest the current centralized national power grid system, given the abundant renewable energy resources in the province, Lacson said.
The aim of the summit is to achieve a more power-secure and greener energy future for Negros Occidental, he added.*
