Negros Electric and Power Corp. has delivered assistance to 1,000 residents of Bago City affected by Kanlaon Volcano’s eruption.
Negros Power, recognizing the immediate needs of the affected communities, brought essential supplies to residents of barangays – Ma-ao, Mailum, Ilijan, and Binubuhan in Bago, a press release from the firm said Monday, Jan. 6.
“Bottled water, a precious commodity in the wake of the ashfall, and face masks, a vital shield against harmful particles, were distributed to families struggling to cope with the eruption’s aftermath”, the press release said.
“We are struggling with a shortage of clean water, especially for our infants,” Rola Sanico, a Barangay Mailum kagawad, said.
“We are so grateful for this help. Many residents can breathe easier now, knowing they have access to clean water and face masks”, she said.
“This is a testament to Negros Power’s ongoing commitment to serving our customers, not just through electricity but through any means that can help them,” Maricel Pe, Negros Power Vice President for Customer Care, said.
“We are here for our communities, and we will always strive to be there for them in their time of need,” she added.*
