The Negros Island Coffee Fiesta 2026 will showcase how the Negrense community is shaping the future of the Philippine coffee in a three-day event set to open at Ayala Malls Capitol Central in Bacolod City on Friday, August 7.
“You’ll discover new flavors, learn from industry leaders, meet passionate coffee people and experience how one community is shaping the future of Philippine coffee,” organizers said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
Started in 2024 with its original name, Negros Occidental Coffee Fiesta, the event is spearheaded by the Negros Occidental Coffee Council and Philippine Coffee Guild with support from the Negros Occidental provincial government, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Agriculture and Mailum Organic Village Association of Bago City.
Aimed at celebrating the people behind every cup, from farmers and processors to roasters, cafés and coffee enthusiasts, the event features coffee experiences, coffee competitions, talks and panel discussions and meaningful connections across the coffee value chain.
“Coffee becomes more than a drink. It becomes a story told by farmers, a craft shared by baristas, an opportunity for entrepreneurs and a celebration for everyone who simply loves a good cup,” organizers said.
Competitions that celebrate creativity, craftsmanship and excellence include the Latte Art Throwdown on Aug. 7, the Philippine Coffee Brewers League on Aug. 8 and the Signature Beverage Challenge on Aug. 9.
Last year, more than 4,500 people visited the Negros Occidental Coffee Fiesta held at the same venue.
“But beyond the numbers were the conversations, new partnerships, shared learning and the growing appreciation for Philippine coffee. This year, we’re inviting you to be part of the next chapter,” organizers said.*PNA
