The Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office has been placed on full alert status to ensure the safety and security of delegates and visitors participating in the ASEAN 2026 Post-Tour in Dumaguete City and Siquijor Province.
Outgoing NORPPO officer-in-charge, Col. Lito Patay, said maximum police deployment has been implemented, alongside intensified coordination with partner agencies, to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of the international activity.
The Philippines is hosting a series of ASEAN-related meetings and activities in 2026, with selected provinces included in post-tour programs to showcase local culture, tourism destinations, and governance initiatives.
Police said security operations will cover key transport hubs, tourist areas, hotels, and event venues during the duration of the post-tour.
Authorities called on the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement personnel to help maintain peace and order while the ASEAN delegates are in the province.*
