NegOr cops seize P43.3M shabu in July

The police in Negros Oriental seized some P43.3 million worth of shabu for the month of July amid sustained anti-criminality operations, an official said Tuesday, July 29.

Lt. Stephen Polinar, spokesperson of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOrPPO), said that the latest illegal drug haul was more than P660,000 worth of “shabu” during the province-wide Simultaneous Anti-criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) from July 25 to 27.

“This is the biggest anti-illegal drug accomplishment in the province for this year owing to the sustained enhanced police operations conducted regularly against all forms of criminality, particularly on illegal drugs and loose firearms,” Polinar said.

Police seized almost P41 million of the total accrued drug haul in Tanjay City on July 15.

As of July 28, a total of 43 anti-illegal drug operations were conducted this month, with 43 persons arrested, and 6,367.8 grams of shabu seized.

Results of the recent SACLEO also included 19 operations on illegal gambling with 46 persons arrested, the arrest of 41 Most Wanted Persons, 25 operations on loose firearms with one person arrested and a total of 26 confiscated/surrendered loose firearms, and one Oplan Katok operation with one deposited firearm.

The police also apprehended 1,228 persons for violations of local ordinances for various offenses.*PNA
