Col. Rainerio de Chavez confirmed Thursday night, Sept. 4, that he has been relieved as Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) director and will be transferred to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) headquarters in Metro Manila.
De Chavez told DIGICAST NEGROS that he was called to Camp Crame on Thursday and informed of the move.
His transfer will take effect Friday, Sept. 5.
“It’s a command decision that we cannot refuse, and it is also for advancement,” he said.
De Chavez did not disclose what post he will hold at the CIDG but said it will be a “sensitive position.”
He also said he will be able to help the higher headquarters in his new post.
De Chavez said he did not know who would replace him as NOCPPO director and that he will discuss the move with Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson on Friday.
He had taken over the helm of the NOCPPO in February 2024. Prior to his NOCPPO post, he headed the Batangas and Rizal provincial police offices.
He is a Philippine National Police Academy Class of 2000 graduate.*
