NegOcc launches online jobs portal to link employers, job seekers

The Negros Occidental provincial government launched a Negros Jobs Online Portal, a centralized digital platform designed to connect employers with job seekers and help address unemployment and underemployment in the province on Wednesday, Dec. 10.

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said the portal aims to match vacant positions offered by companies with jobless Negrenses looking for work.

Diaz said the initiative seeks to shorten the period of joblessness and provide job seekers with access to reputable employers beyond the limitations of their immediate communities.

He added that the platform will also help address employers’ concerns by widening their pool of qualified applicants and allowing them to find employees who best fit their needs.

Diaz said the province continues to invest in human resource development through scholarships, training programs, and skills development, but emphasized the need to guide beneficiaries toward the right jobs as soon as possible.

He said the portal has been two years in the making, with its IT components completed in 2023, but the province needed personnel who could focus on legal and technical details to prepare it for public use.

The Negros Jobs portal is now fully operational, and employers may begin submitting information to be accredited to ensure legitimacy and compliance with provincial standards.

The Provincial Public Employment Service Office, led by Manager Karen Dinsay and supported by the Department of Labor and Employment, is spearheading the implementation of the program.

The portal was launched during ceremonies at the Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City, attended by LGU-PESO managers, coordinators, partner agencies, and private companies.

Job seekers may now access the online portal at https://negrosjobs.mis-negros.com/home.*
