The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office arrested 1,291 wanted persons in the first half of the year, the highest among the police units in Western Visayas, the Police Regional Office-6 reported.
There were 3,004 wanted persons arrested in Western Visayas in 2,387 police operations from January to June, PRO-6 reported on Monday, July 15.
It said 512 were tagged as most wanted persons (MWP) while 2,492 were other wanted persons (OWP).
The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) had the highest number of MWPs arrested at 139, followed by the NOCPPO with 138, Capiz PPO – 49, Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) – 48, Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) – 45, Antique PPO – 44, Aklan PPO – 28, Guimaras PPO – 11, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Regional Field Unit 6 (CIDG-RFU6) – 9, and Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 (RMFB6) – 1.
NOCPPO had the highest number of OWPs arrested at 1,153, followed by the Iloilo PPO with 462, BCPO – 191, ICPO – 177, Antique PPO – 165, Aklan PPO – 131, Capiz PPO – 123, Guimaras PPO – 62, RMFB6 – 15, and CIDG-RFU6 – 13.
PRO-6 Regional Director, Brig Gen. Jack Wanky, commended the operatives, and unit commanders across the region “for their persistent endeavor and commitment demonstrated in the campaign against wanted persons”.
