Negros Occidental and Bacolod City are all set for the 125th celebration of Philippine Independence Day on Monday, June 12, with the theme “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan (Freedom, Future, History)”.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson and Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer will deliver speeches at the Negros Occidental provincial government Independence Day rites at the Provincial Capitol Park and Lagoon in Bacolod at 8 a.m. Monday.

They will also turn over checks to barangay insurance beneficiaries.

In Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez will deliver the Independence Day message at rites at the Bacolod Public Plaza to start at 6:30 a.m. Monday.

Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya, Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran and the city councilors will join the mayor at the rites.

In Negros Oriental Governor Manuel “Chaco” Sagarbarria will deliver the keynote speech at the Independence Day rites at the Ninoy Aquino Freedom Park in Dumaguete City Monday.*
