
Typhoon “Tino” damage to crops, fisheries and infrastructure in Negros Occidental hit P382.3 million on Friday, Nov. 7.
Damage to crops was P28.5 million with rice lossses placed at P24.8 million, corn – P387,682 and high value crops – P3.2 million, the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist reported Friday, Nov. 7.
This has affected 1,229 farmers in 99 barangays in 13 local government units in Negros Occidental, the report said.
Damage to fisheries in two local government units was P6.47 million, the OPA said.
Damage to infrastructure was P347. 3 million in Sipalay City, Isabela, Don Salvador Benedicto, Bago, Binalbagan, and La Castellana, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) said.
The typhoon also destroyed 1,943 houses and damaged 11,336 in 11 local government units in Negros Occidental, the PDRRMO added.*
