Nationwide vax drive extended to Feb. 18

The “Bayanihan, Bakunahan III” national vaccination drive against COVID-19, initially set for only two days, has been extended until February 18, the Department of Health (DOH) announced Friday, February 11.

The initial two-day drive was held Thursday and Friday, February 10 and 11.

On Thursday, 15,370 residents were vaccinated against COVID-19 in Negros Occidental, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said.

The number of persons vaccinated on Friday was not available yet.

In the First District of Negros Occidental, the number of persons vaccinated in San Carlos City were 1,104, Don Salvador Benedicto – 63, Calatrava – 265, Toboso – 154, and Escalante City – 432; Second District: Sagay City – 675, Cadiz City – 412 and Manapla – 209; Third District: Victorias City – 868, EB Magalona – 44, Silay City – 1,193, Talisay City – 950 and Murcia – 582;

Fourth District: Bago City -1,111, Pulupandan – 141, Valladolid – 218, San Enrique – 0, La Carlota City – 431 and Pontevedra – 571; Fifth District: La Castellana – 103, Moises Padilla – 114, Isabela – 188, Hinigaran – 624, Binalbagan – 154 and Himamaylan – 1,287; and Sixth District: Kabankalan City – 799, Ilog – 284, Candoni – 302, Cauayan – 576, Sipalay City – 874 and Hinoba-an – 80.

There were also 562 vaccinated against COVID-19 in seven Negros Occidental provincial government-run hospitals, Diaz added.

The provincial government will start vaccinating children aged 5 to 11 years old at the Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City on Monday, February 14, he said.*
