A murder complaint is set to be filed against a student who allegedly killed his male teacher inside the victim’s house in Brgy. Alijis, Bacolod City, on Saturday, June 13.
Police withheld the names of the victim and the suspect upon the request of the family.
Police Capt. Jay-R Reyes, Bacolod Police Station 7 commander, said the suspect, who is in his 20s, was arrested in the area where the incident happened.
Reyes said the police are still waiting for the victim’s death certificate and autopsy report, which are among the documents needed for the filing of the case.
He said the murder complaint is expected to be formally filed tomorrow.
Reyes said the police cannot yet disclose the full details of the incident while the investigation is still ongoing and out of respect for the request of the victim’s family.
He added that the official chronology of events will be released once the investigation is finalized.
Reyes also reminded the public to be cautious about the people they allow inside their homes, especially those they have only recently met.
He said residents should always prioritize their safety, especially those living alone.*
