Murcia Mayor Gerry Rojas and Vice Mayor Johnny Reosura turned over a new ambulance and pick-up service vehicle to the Rural Health Unit and the Office of the Sangguniang Bayan, recently.
Rural Health Officer Dr. Raymund Antonio Maguad received the ambulance, while Reosura received the pick-up vehicle intended for the Office of Sangguniang Bayan, a press release said Tuesday, May 24.
“As I have mentioned since the start of my term, my administration will strive continually to bolster the mobility of our local offices, particularly the Rural Health Unit, so that every department can serve the Murciahanons quickly and more efficiently,” Rojas said.
He pointed out that last year, the Murcia RHU also received two new ambulances from the Department of Health, through the Office of 3rd District Rep. Francisco “Kiko” Benitez.
“Improved delivery of health services is a top priority of this administration. Coupled with the two new ambulances from Cong. Kiko last year, this new ambulance will add to the RHU’s mobility in responding to emergencies and in transporting Murciahanon patients to nearby hospitals,” the mayor added.
Also last year, the office of Reosura received a new Toyota Grandia van, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office received a new ambulance and multi-purpose vehicle, while the Murcia Police Station headed by P/Capt. Jerald V. Muya acquired a brand new Toyota Hilux patrol car from the PNP regional office.
The other departments also received new Toyota pick-up vehicles or jeepney-type vans for their respective offices, while two dump trucks were acquired, through Benitez, for use in the town’s Solid Waste Management and Environmental Sanitation Program.
“We need to acquire new service vehicles for our local offices to improve their mobility in delivering the services of their respective departments to our beloved Murciahanons. With this program, we aim to empower our municipal employees, and encourage them to deliver more efficient and responsive service to our people,” Rojas said.*
