More than a thousand residents availed of medical and dental services, as well as free medicine and vitamins, during the medical and dental missions conducted by the Municipality of Murcia, in coordination with the Provincial Health Office.
“Together with Vice-Mayor Johnny Reosura and Sangguniang Bayan Members, my administration always strives to continuously improve the delivery of health services to our beloved Murciahanons, particularly those who live far from the town proper. Instead of having them come to the town proper to avail of these health services, we will deliver these health services to their doorsteps,” Murcia Mayor Gerry Rojas said.
The Murcia Municipal Health Office personnel, headed by Dr. Raymund Antonio Maguad and comprised of a volunteer dentist, nurses and midwives, together with four dentists and other staff from the Provincial Health Office, conducted medical consultations, circumcisions and tooth extractions.
Antibiotics, hypertension maintenance medicine, vitamins and medications for fever, cough and cold were also distributed to the beneficiaries.
“So far, we have conducted these medical and dental missions in four barangays, namely Cansilayan, which is quite far from the town proper, and the mountain barangays of Canlandog, Pandanon-Silos and Amayco. We will continue with this program so that needy residents of other far-flung barangays can also benefit,” Rojas added.
Rojas, Reosura, Sangguniang Bayan Members and other municipal officials joined the activities to show their support for the health program and to personally express their concern for the well-being of their constituents.
The mayor thanked the Punong Barangays and the barangay personnel for facilitating the medical missions in their localities.*PR
