
A 34-year-old man was shot and killed by two unidentified suspects in Brgy. Montilla, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 17.
The victim, a single male and resident of Sitio Balunggay, Brgy. Montilla, was riding his motorcycle from Sitio Haroy when the incident occurred.
Police said the shooting happened at around 5 p.m. in Purok Sab-a, Barangay Montilla.
Initial investigation showed that upon reaching the area, the suspects called the victim’s attention, prompting him to stop and dismount from his motorcycle.
One of the suspects then suddenly shot the victim, hitting him in the right arm and right armpit.
The suspects immediately fled the scene after the shooting.
The victim was rushed to the Moises Padilla District Hospital but was pronounced dead by the attending physician.
Police disclosed that the victim had allegedly received threats on Nov. 10, from a resident of Brgy. Montilla in connection with a land dispute.
An investigation is ongoing to identify the suspects and establish the motive behind the killing.*
