
The Philippine Coast Guard monitored more than 10,000 sea passengers across Negros Island Region as part of Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Pasko 2025 Thursday morning, Dec. 18.
Data from the Coast Guard District Southern Visayas showed a total of 5,208 outbound passengers and 4,833 inbound passengers recorded in ports across the Negros Island Region as of 6 a.m. on Thursday.
The Coast Guard said at least 100 frontline personnel were deployed in four CGDSV stations to ensure safe and orderly sea travel during the holiday season.
Personnel inspected a total of 80 vessels and 21 motorbancas to check compliance with safety standards and passenger regulations.
The Coast Guard advised the public to coordinate with the nearest Coast Guard station for concerns and clarifications on sea travel protocols amid the Christmas rush.
CGDSV said heightened monitoring will continue throughout the Pasko 2025 period to ensure passenger safety and prevent maritime incidents.*
