More than 10,000 jobs available at Independence Day fair in Bacolod

More than 10,000 jobs will be available at the Kalayaan Job Fair to mark the country’s 127th Independence Day at the Main Atrium of SM City Bacolod from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced on Wednesday.

There are 8,852 job vacancies being offered by 57 local companies, DOLE-6 Regional Director Sixto Rodriguez Jr. said.

The companies are offering jobs in the manpower, BPO, retail, restaurant, manufacturing, lending, transportation, insurance, and construction fields.

Four licensed agencies are also offering 1,534 jobs in Canada, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Malaysia and China, he added.

Job seekers are encouraged to register in advance at dolero6.org to speed up the process. But walk-in applicants are still welcome.

Applicants are advised to bring their resumes, pictures and other required documents.

At the job fair, the DOLE-6 will set up a help desk to assist clients in the application process, while representatives from partner-government agencies will also provide onsite services and assistance.

The World Day Against Child Labor celebration will be marked with the signing of pledge of commitment and memorandum of agreement with partner-stakeholders for the prevention and elimination of child abuse at the 888 GT Mall, while 18 vendors are joining the Kadiwa sa Pangulo at the Fiesta Market of Ayala Malls Capitol Central at Gatuslao Street in Bacolod City on Thursday.

DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) checks totaling P1.5 million will also be released to to 29 beneficiaries of Hda. Guin-olayan, Brgy. Tortosa, Manapla, Negros Occidental, on Thursday.

The DOLE will also release Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) checks totaling P15,708,060.00 to 3,062 beneficiaries from 21 barangays in Bacolod City.*
