Five more scholars from Negros Occidental graduated from a globally recognized two-year Early Childhood Education and Care Program at Alana Kaye College in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia, on Thursday, May 29.
The five Negrense graduates are Kristine Irish G. Esclares of Victorias City, Artmarie J. Getonzo and Riva May D. Manuel of Sipalay City, Chloe Napaton of Moises Padilla, and Pamela Joie T. Sobrebiga of Binalbagan.
They were among students from 25 countries who completed the rigorous competency-based course designed to equip future educators with globally aligned skills and knowledge, a press release from the Negros Occidental provincial government said.
Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose V. Lacson was among speakers during the graduation rites attended by Alana Anderson – CEO of Alana Kaye College, Northern Territory Minister Robyn Cahill, MP Luke Gosling and Philippine Honorary Consul General to the Northern Territory Januario Rivas and Edna Rivas.
Lacson commended the graduates for their resilience and commitment.
“You have worked hard and embraced challenges with grace, even as most of you ventured far from home. This milestone proves not only your perseverance and dedication but also your courage in taking the leap and embracing the opportunities offered by Alana Kaye College,” he said.
“We take pride in your achievements — not just because of your academic success, but because of the values you uphold and the bridges you build between cultures,” Lacson added.
Joining the governor at the event were Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II, Negros Occidental Scholarship Program Head Karen Dinsay, and Provincial Information Officer and Executive Assistant to the Governor Charina Magallanes-Tan.
The graduates are recipients of the provincial government’s international scholarship initiative aimed at upgrading the training, skills, knowledge, and global exposure of Negrenses, the press release said.
Their success underscores the province’s continuing commitment to education, international partnerships, and human capital development, it added.*
