
A total of 1,054 rice farmers of Moises Padilla received P5,000 each from the Department of Agriculture’s Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Monday morning, January 17.
The P5.2 million aid distribution was held at Moises Padilla Covered Court in the town, led by Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, Mayor Ella Celestina Yulo, and Ester Ruth Torreverde of DA Region VI.
The Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund – Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RCEF – RFFA) provides financial assistance to rice farmers as compensation to the projected income loss arising from the rice tariffication, a press release from the Capitol said.
The DA is set to distribute aid to all farmers of the 32 towns and cities of Negros Occidental on scheduled dates.
Also present at the activity were OIC Provincial Agriculturist Dina Genzola, Moises Padilla Municipal Agriculturist Ann Gayona, and local officials of the town.*
