Miss U NegOcc pageant to be held in November

A Miss Universe Philippines – Negros Occidental pageant will be held in Bacolod City in November. 

This was announced following the signing of a Miss Universe Philippines – Negros Occidental franchise by local director Kashmere Granada with Mags Cue – director for national search and Arnold Mercado – director for local and Asia Pacific search at Sugarland Hotel in Bacolod City, Monday, July 22. 

The signing was witnessed by Jonas Gaffud, Miss Universe president and chief operating officer. 

The screening of aspirants for the Miss Universe Negros Occidental pageant will be held in August, Granada said. 

The winner of the Miss Universe Negros Occidental pageant will then join the Miss Universe Philippines national pageant, she added. 

Gaffud said to be a beauty queen in the Philippines one must work hard for it.  An aspirant must study and make sure her heart is in the right path, he said. 

“You have to have the right attitude and the heart to really give back to the community,” Gaffud said. 

Granada said  the   Miss Universe Philippines Negros Occidental     aims  to aid  a group engaged in helping  women and children who have been victims of rape.*
