Minimal road incidents were recorded across Negros Island Region during Holy Week, the Land Transportation Office reported on Monday, April 6.
The LTO-NIR reported that intensified operations from March 23 to April 5 under “Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Semana Santa and Summer Vacation 2026” helped ensure safer travel across the region.
Authorities said the campaign included vehicle inspections, terminal checks, and driver drug testing in coordination with the Philippine National Police, Highway Patrol Group, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and local government units.
The LTO said the coordinated efforts of agencies and the cooperation of the public contributed to the orderly flow of traffic and reduced road incidents.
The agency added that the operation will continue as part of its efforts to maintain road safety during the summer travel season.
Motorists were urged to follow traffic laws, ensure their vehicles are roadworthy, and practice responsible driving at all times.*
