A 36-year-old migrant worker is currently in police custody following a violent hacking incident triggered by an alleged discovery of infidelity at Hacienda Palencia, Barangay La Granja, La Carlota City. Sunday morning, December 28.
The suspect, identified by the alias “Jimmy,” a native of Bugasong, Antique, allegedly attacked a fellow migrant worker known as “Tonying,” 27, the police said.
Police investigation revealed that the suspect had just returned home from work when he reportedly caught his live-in partner in a compromising position with the victim.
Enraged by the discovery, Jimmy allegedly seized an axe and attacked Tonying, inflicting severe wounds to the victim’s head and various parts of his body.
The police apprehended the suspect. He is currently being held at the La Carlota police station.
Tonying was rushed to the Don Salvador Benedicto Memorial District Hospital .*
