Mayor’s office puts on hold killing of dogs at city pound

The Bacolod City Mayor’s Office has decided to put on hold the scheduled mass euthanasia of the impounded dogs, supposedly scheduled after February 20.

Secretary to the Mayor Edward Joseph Cuansing, City Veterinary Office head Dr. Maria Agueda Trinidad Dela Torre, and Executive Assistant Ernesto Pineda, cluster head for Sectoral Concerns met with BACH Project Ph spokesperson Daniel Sam Salvatierra and PAWSsion founder Malou Perez to discuss concerns on the dogs being held at the Bacolod City Pound, at the Bacolod City Government Center today, Feb. 16.

The group will hold another meeting on Thursday, February 18, to discuss updates on dog welfare concerns in Bacolod.*
