Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez is calling on the Bacolod barangay officials to convince unmarried couples to join the “You and Me sa 2023” mass wedding of the city on Valentine’s Day.
The goal is to marry 2,023 couples, he said.
The deadline for application to join the mass wedding has been extended to January 22.
Those who are 23 years old and above and have been living together for five years can go to their barangay offices to be included in the list for the mass wedding.
Couples who have lived together for less than five years, and wish to get married may visit the Office of the City Civil Registrar (OCCR) and apply for a marriage license if they want to join the mass wedding.
The mass wedding will be at the Bacolod City Government Center grounds on February 14.
The mayor said he may invite special “ninongs” and “ninangs” for the mass wedding.*
