Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez, who turns 57 on Wednesday, Dec. 20, said his birthday wish for Bacolod is the full implementation of the projects lined up for the city in 2024.
The mayor, at his regular weekly press conference, said his goal is to increase the number Bacolod indigent senior citizens covered by social pension funds.
The city government will also enter into burial services agreements with four Bacolod funeral parlors to assist families of indigents who pass away, he said.
The aim is to also increase the burial assistance provided by the city government from P7,000 to P10,000, which has been forwarded to the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod for action, Benitez added.
Increased dialysis center services are also among his priorities, he said.
Construction of multiple city infrastructure projects are also scheduled to start next year, he added.*
