Moises Padilla Mayor Ella Garcia Yulo on Wednesday, July 16, sought the help of Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson to save the Central Philippine State University (CPSU) Moises Padilla Campus.
Garcia-Yulo said the 10-year Deed of Usufruct that allowed CPSU to use the property of former Moises Padilla mayor Francisco Nazareno expired in 2017.
Nazareno wants to sell the land, Garcia-Yulo said.
The mayor said she sought the help of the governor because thousands of students study at the CPSU in Moises Padilla, who are not only from her town, but also from La Castellana.
CPSU Moises Padilla offers courses in education, information technology and agribusiness, she said.
The governor has promised to help, the mayor said.*
