Mayor Greg Gasataya has dismissed a Bacolod City College (BCC) teacher facing sexual harassment raps, City Legal Officer Karol Joseph Chiu confirmed on Wednesday, Sept. 10.
The mayor dismissed the teacher with the approval of the BCC Board of Trustees, Chiu said.
The mayor said there should be no tolerance for sexual harassment at BCC as the welfare of students must be protected.
The teacher had sent inappropriate text messages to a female student at the college, who has since graduated, Chiu said.
The complaint was filed by the student in February and it was acted on swiftly, he said.
The teacher has filed a motion for reconsideration before the Office of the Mayor, Chiu said.*
