Man tied up, shot in head found dead in Himamaylan

A Bacolod resident whose head was covered with a bonnet and whose hands and feet were tied up was found dead beside the national highway in Purok. 1, Barangay Aguisan, Himamaylan City in Negros Occidental, at about 5:40 a.m. Sunday, April 24.

Levy Casibo Ortega, 46, of Purok Villmar, Barangay Estefania, Bacolod, sustained multiple gunshot wounds on his head, PCapt. Romulo Gepilango, Himamaylan City deputy police chief, said.

A message written on a cardboard beside the body said “Kap Macoy nasa iyo pala si Bebot Murillo at si Boy Tapang…See you next time….By: JJ.”

The slain man was about 5 feet six inches tall with dark complexion, and wearing a blue shirt and maong (denim) pants, Gepilango said

The man who was lying on his side had a bonnet over his face that was wrapped in packing tape. His hands and feet were also tied with packing tape.

Initial investigation showed that the victim was shot in the area as residents said they heard gunshots, Gepilango added.

Recovered from the crime scene were two fired bullets of a .45 caliber pistol, one fired cartridge case of a 5.56 mm and a fired cartridge of a .45 caliber pistol.*
