
A 41-year-old laborer died after he was stabbed in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental on Saturday afternoon, May 30.
Police identified the victim as alias “Archie,” a resident of Sitio Palayan, Brgy. Cabadiangan.
The suspect, identified as alias “Rico,” a truck driver and resident of the same barangay, remains at large.
The Himamaylan police said the victim was drinking liquor at a house in Sitio Palayan with several others when the incident happened at around 3:45 p.m.
Police said the victim was peeling a mango when the suspect suddenly claimed that the victim was threatening him with a knife.
An argument followed, but the victim reportedly tried to avoid the confrontation.
The suspect then allegedly stabbed the victim on the left side of his back.
Police said the victim managed to run, but the suspect chased him and stabbed him again in the right side of his neck.
The victim was rushed by the Himamaylan Rescue Team to the Gov. Valeriano M. Gatuslao Memorial Hospital but was declared dead by the attending physician.*
