A man who was walking on the side of the road at Kabugwason in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City, was shot to death by riding-in-tandem suspects on Friday night, May 21.
The police identified the fatality as Audie Gonzaga, 38, of Kabugwason.
The victim, who had just left his house to buy food, was waylaid and killed by unidentified men onboard a white motorcycle.
The back rider alighted from the motorcycle and shot the victim seven times, the police report said.
The victim was rushed to the Corazon Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital but was declared dead on arrival. He succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds to his head and body.
Police probers recovered six fired cartridges of a .45 caliber pistol, three deformed metal jackets, one deformed fired bullet, and one deformed lead core at the crime scene, which was three kilometers away from Police Station 7.
Police have yet to establish the motive for the killing.*
