A 44-year-old man was found dead with a head wound in Purok 2, Barangay Bantayan, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, early Tuesday morning, Aug. 19.
The police identified the victim as Roberito Tongha of Barangay Bantayan.
His body was discovered at around 6:05 a.m. by his neighbor who immediately informed the victim’s family after finding him lying on the ground with blood.
A barangay midwife confirmed that Tongha had no vital signs when she arrived at the scene.
Investigators noted the victim sustained a head injury, believed to have caused his death.
The victim’s family, however, refused to subject his remains to post-mortem or autopsy examination.
They told authorities that Tongha, who lived alone, was often observed to be drunk.
They believe he may have lost his balance and accidentally hit his head on the corner of his bed.
The police are still investigating the cause of death.*
