An excursion at a beach in EB Magalona, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday, April 20, resulted in the death of a 22-year-old man.
The fatality was identified as John Mark Deduyco.
Lt. Col. Robert Petate, Silay City police chief, said the incident was first reported to them after high tide swallowed six of the 30 persons bathing on the beach, but five of them were immediately rescued and were taken to the hospital.
The missing one, Deduyco, was found dead past 4 p.m.*
