Man arrested in CIDG entrapment, weapons, drugs recovered

A man was arrested in an entrapment operation by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group–Negros Oriental and the San Jose Municipal Police Station in Brgy. Jilocon, San Jose, Negros Oriental, around 10:50 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 8.

Police identified the suspect as “Jonathan,” 43, who was apprehended during Oplan Paglalansag Omega for alleged violations of Republic Act 10591 or the Guns and Ammunition Regulations Act.

Confiscated from him were a KG9/Ingram sub-machine gun, a .40 caliber pistol, and several magazines and live ammunition.

The police also recovered 19 sachets of suspected shabu, including one large and six medium packs, with an estimated value of P102,000.

Authorities said a separate complaint for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act will be filed against the suspect.


The arrested man is under police custody for inquest proceedings.

CIDG operatives said two of his accomplices identified as Reynaldo Rio Paculanang and another still-unidentified suspect, remain at large.*
