Man arrested in Bacolod for online sexual exploitation

A 21-year-old man was arrested in an entrapment operation in Bacolod City for alleged human trafficking and online sexual exploitation, the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit–Negros Island Region reported.

Police identified the suspect only as “Tan,” who was apprehended at around 12:55 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 8, for allegedly exploiting a male victim through a social media platform.

He is facing charges for violating the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act and the Cybercrime Prevention Act.

Brig.h Gen. Wilson Asueta, acting director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, commended the operatives for the successful operation.

He said human trafficking carries severe penalties and vowed that the ACG will continue to pursue those involved in online exploitation.

The suspect is now under police custody and will face appropriate charges.
