Majority of Negros ‘Verbena’ flood victims go home, damage assessment on: Guv

The majority of the flood victims in Negros Occidental have gone home and the local government units are conducting their damage assessments, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson Jr. said on Wednesday, Nov. 26.

There were 50,409 families with 186,965 members who were affected by Tropical Depression ‘Verbena’ in 21 local government units in Negros Occidental, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office reported on Wednesday.

Persons still in evacuation centers on Wednesday were 4,356, it added.

An initial report said eight houses were destroyed and 21 were damaged, the PDRRMO said.*
