Fire destroyed one house and damaged three others at Purok Magsungay, Brgy Singcang Airport, Bacolod City, at 4:11 a.m. Thursday, Dec 18.

Two persons were injured in the fire, the Bacolod City Fire Station reported.

Injured were Wimer Sabanal, 32, who sustained an abrasion on his left foot after he jumped out of a window to escape, and Franzeska Miya Claur, 8, who suffered from a second degree burns on the lower part of her abdomen.

They were asleep when the fire broke out and escaped from the second floor of a burning house, FO2 Rolin Paulan said.

The fire hit one two-storey house and three single-storey houses.

Barangay Captain Rosini Distrito said five families were affected with about 18 members.

Estimated damage was P270,000, the Bacolod Fire Station reported.

The fire is believed to have been caused by a electrical ignition triggered by a pinched wire at the house of Belen Moya, Paulan said.*
