Charina Magallanes-Tan has been named the director of the 30th Panaad sa Negros Festival, scheduled for April 13 to 19, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said on Wednesday, Feb. 4.

Tan, who serves as executive assistant to the governor and provincial public information officer, also held the position of festival director last year.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson previously said that P50 million will be allocated for this year’s festival, which is held annually at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City.

On Wednesday, Tan and Diaz led the first LGU and Executive Committee Coordination Meeting for the 30th Panaad sa Negros Festival at the Capitol Social Hal in Bacolod City.

Diaz said that committee heads and coordinators have already been appointed.

This year, the festival dance competitions for cities and municipalities will be held over two separate nights, Diaz said.

In previous years, the competitions were held on a single night, which he noted made the event excessively lengthy.*
