
A lineman died after he was electrocuted while working on an electric post at the national road in Barangay Balintawak, Escalante City, Saturday morning, October 11.
The police identified the victim only as “Orly”, a resident of Victorias City and an employee of Prime Power Company.
The victim was installing suspension equipment on a Northern Negros Electric Cooperative (NONECO) electric post when he was electrocuted at around 9:30 a.m., the Escalante City Police Station reported.
Rescue teams from NONECO, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)–Escalante, and the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) immediately responded and rushed the victim to Vicente Gustilo District Hospital where he was declared dead.
Authorities said the victim’s remains are now at the hospital morgue pending post-mortem examination.
Police are coordinating with Prime Power and NONECO for further investigation into the incident.*
