Lending collector robbed, police arrest 3 suspects 

The crime scene in Purok Talong, Brgy. Malingin, Bago City.*

A lending collector was injured after three men allegedly mauled and robbed him while he was traversing a rough road in a sugarcane plantation at Purok Talong, Brgy. Malingin, Bago City, Negros Occidental,  Tuesday, June 18. 

Injured was Gerald Estroche, 41,  a resident of Brgy. Pacol, Valladolid, the police said. 

The suspects were Joshua Getino, 21, Mardin Sahol, 25, and Neil Labrilla, 26,  of Brgy. Malingin. 

The victim was waylaid   by   the three suspects, two of whom were armed with bamboo poles. 

The two suspects attempted to hit the head of the victim using the bamboo poles but Estroche was able to block them causing him to fall to the ground. 

When the victim fell, the suspects mauled him and took his phone worth P10,000 and P4,000 in cash, the police said. 

The suspects fled  but were  arrested by Bago policemen. 

The suspects will be charged for  robbery, the police said.*
