
Veteran actor Ronnie Lazaro, who is from Brgy. Fabrica in Sagay City, Negros Occidental, is inviting Sagaynons and Negrenses to watch the historical epic Magellan, the Philippines’ official entry to the best international feature category of the Oscars.
The film, which tells the story of Ferdinand Magellan’s expedition and its encounter with native leaders, will have a special screening at Ayala Malls Capitol Central in Bacolod City on Wednesday, Sept. 10.
The movie tackles the first circumnavigation of the world collided with the rich and complex cultures of the islands that would become the Philippines, forever changing the course of history, he said.
Lazaro portrays Rajah Humabon, one of the central figures in the narrative.
