
An 18-year-old female who sold phones and gadgets online died after she lost control of her motorcycle that fell off a cliff in Sitio Nagpintal, Barangay Balayong, Pamplona, Negros Oriental, Tuesday morning, Aug. 26.
Police identified the victim as Crislyn Ausan, a resident of Brgy. Nangca, Bayawan City. Rescuers was able to retrieve Ausan from the accident area and was rushed by the municipal ambulance to the hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.
With Ausan was a back rider named Rose whose full identity is still being verified. Rose was injured in the accident and remains under treatment at the local hospital.
Authorities revealed that Ausan was driving her black Honda Click 150 downhill along a curved, asphalted road when she lost control, and the motorcycle fell off a cliff. The area is known among residents as an accident-prone site.
The victim’s friend described Ausan as very hardworking to support her 3-year old child with cerebral palsy and has difficulty in walking and talking. The friend said Ausan often travelled around Negros Oriental to personally deliver gadgets to her costumers.
What is heartbreaking, said the friend, was Ausan losing her life just one day before her child’s birthday this August 27.
Police are conducting further investigation into the incident, records showed.
